How does one man make dreams, then wonder why it becomes so unclear? What could be more important, that one should sacrifice one’s personal dreams, leaving behind unhappiness? FAMILY!
Jay Escober is a great example of a man with simple dreams with big goals. A justification of fallen from grace. All his teenage life, rock music was his greatest passion and life. It was so clear to him that this will be the reason for his existence and his path to success. He sacrificed his education in his pursuit of his rock music dreams, thinking that all will be well and this will lead him to fame and stardom. For years, he kept on pursuing his dream and never looked back. It was a rocky path but that kept him even more motivated to move towards the music limelight and become satisfied of what he had become; but the one thing he has not achieved was financial stability. As he matured, love came into his life and he made a commitment that he would give the best life to his family no matter what it took. Jay decided to change his career path and work in a call center company thinking this was the answer to their financial needs; this was his first taste in the world of salesmanship. Earning a meager P11,000 per month, he had no savings at all. Even though he had a ‘job’, he still relied on what his wife gave him. He had no savings, no personal belongings that he bought himself, and no right to speak up; a life that he described as “walang kwenta”. Unsatisfied with the life he was heading leading, he decided to leave the call center industry and return to his passion; the only thing he would not give up was his love for rock n’ roll.
Jay was given a break to earn enough for his family when he went abroad. Sacrifice was indeed a great thing he needs to do. Leaving behind his family, just to provide them a better life. He exceeded his working time just to achieve his financial goals for his family and also juggled three different jobs every day, as a waiter, a band member and a janitor. As he worked hard and far from home and his loved ones just to reach his goals, unhappiness struck. All seemed to be going well until there came a point that he faced a trial he couldn’t overcome. The situation spiraled towards the worst and he couldn’t go back abroad. Jay was devastated; he was burdened by the weight of the situation and the thought of how to provide for his family. With his savings, he put up a car wash business. As time went by, his investment was went well and his business flourished. It was during those times that he felt that he made good with his hard-earned money and was able to provide well for his family. Unfortunately, destiny threw another curve ball. The storm “Milenyo” hit the country, and Jay and his family, including his business, were among the millions who were struck and robbed by the calamity. Nothing was left; his entire livelihood was washed away by the storm. He was forced to start from scratch using what was left from the little savings he had. From that point on, his business struggled and there was little profit, if not none at all. Jay was once again disheartened from all the hardships that he and his family had suffered.
He was on the brink of losing hope as his business was not able to recover from what had happened. It was dark moment in his life, a chip he couldn’t shake off his shoulder. As he continued to revive his carwash business, one customer kept on going to his carwash regularly, Drexx Garcia. He invited Jay to the try the Network Marketing business. At first, he was skeptic and was hesitant to join the business. He wasn’t familiar with it so he decided to go on with his traditional business. But as he kept on moving towards a different path, opportunity kept on knocking his door. For so many months, he tried to avoid Drexx and never entertained the idea of doing network marketing. Then in 2007, for the 3rd time, Drexx invited Jay to give the networking business a shot. As Jay took it into consideration, he was quite amazed with one product in particular that he saw he can sell if he decided to do the business; Ultima-C. Because of his curiosity and interest in the product, he decided to come and was introduced to UNO. He attend the orientation and it was a great revelation for him. He was so focused on the path he made to become successful, he ignored other opportunities that can give him a better path for success and redemption; an opportunity to change his life and his family’s. Jay joined the UNO bandwagon and the rest is history.
